Chiranjeevi's Telangana Visit - Pics, Videos

It is almost a year since Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi has not entered the Telangana region. And obviously, he felt very much relieved after visiting Adilabad district on the pretext of taking part in Pranahita Pushkarams.

Realising that it would be extremely difficult to travel from Hyderabad to Adilabad by road because of strong opposition from Telangana people, Chiranjeevi preferred to fly by helicopter straightaway to the Pushkaram ghat at Arjuna Gutta. As soon as he landed there, he was escorted by some local fan club members and the police to the river, where he took bath and offered obeisance to the elders.

Yet, Chiranjeevi could not escape from incurring the wrath of Telangana protestors. Hundreds of pilgrims at the Pushkarams raised “Jai Telangana” and “Chiranjeevi go back” slogans as he entered the area. There were some attempts by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi activists to gherao him, but the police dispersed them using force.

A visibly relaxed Chiranjeevi told the media later that he was happy to visit part of Telangana region, despite knowing that his visit would cause some disturbance. He, however, tried to pacify the people of Telangana, saying his party would abide by whatever recommendation that would be made by Justice B N Srikrishna Committee.
