YSR Game Plan On PRP and TDP

Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has hit two birds at one shot. By planting the story in Eenadu through his loyal reporter, he not only projected the Telugu Desam Party as a villain in the episode, but also denigrated the image of Eenadu group chairman Ramoji Rao in the eyes of the people.

Sources say the story was leaked to Eenadu reporter by YSR’s close aide Ravichander, who was also responsible for successful planting of stories about Bhuma couple’s entry into the Congress. The reporter, who is in the pay-list of YSR, planted the story about the PRP MLAs meeting Allu Aravind till late in the night, in a convincing manner in the wake of recent developments. Since Eenadu management also wants the PRP to get demoralised, it used the story as a banner.

As expected by YSR and his coterie, the heat turned on to the TDP. Since morning, the PRP leaders have started attacking TDP and its friendly daily Eenadu for trying to destabilise the PRP. Nobody tried to analyse what benefit the TDP would get if the PRP merges with the Congress, because it would only increase the strength of the Congress and at the same time, the Congress would get a glamorous touch in the form of Chiranjeevi. The only benefit for the TDP is that it would have a straight fight in the next elections, which are too far. In the panchayat elections, it would only benefit the Congress-PRP combine.

YSR is aware of this, but his whole aim is to hit the TDP below the belt and at the same time, demoralise Chiru. That PRP MLA K Kannababu, who till last year was an ordinary reporter in Eenadu, could stage a dharna in front of the Eenadu office itself is an indication to YSR’s political skills!
